After leaving Islay, we headed to Leeds where Marlee planned to see an American musician in concert for considerably less than a ticket in the U.S. The plan was she would meet us at our Manchester Airport hotel (which she did). We’d shuttle to the airport, where we’d hop on our plane to Chicago and spend the planned 4-hour layover in the Admiral’s Club.
The reality was that Marlee made some new friends at the concert so was up a wee bit late. The reality was that getting from the train station to our hotel by foot was a challenge for Marlee because Manchester is not a pedestrian-friendly property. The reality was that fog in Dublin, from whence our aircraft was to arrive, delayed it by about three of those planned four hours.
So here’s how we spent our time in Manchester Airport.
