On December 22, 1987 Tom had acute appendicitis and then he had no appendix. On December 29, he was riding Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain with Mark Shelton (because Patty will NOT ride those rides)—holding onto his appendix incision. The trip was not recommended by his surgeon.
