We were young once, but those birthdays keep on coming. Patty’s birthdays were always planned, from the very small 24th to the not-so-small 40th and 50th gatherings. There were more parties for Tom because from about 1987 to about 1996, the celebrations were always surprises to Tom. Then he finally said enough and we just planned simple dinners.
